The International Office also organises Orientation Weeks before the semester begins as well as cultural events and excursions.

Housing services

Are you going to be travelling straight from your home country to Fulda? If you are, you will probably find it reassuring to have reserved accommodation before you set off. The International Office can help you to find rented accommodation at special terms and conditions – in publicly owned halls of residence or private apartments.

This accommodation is fully furnished and equipped with bed linen, towels, cooking utensils and cutlery, etc, so you do not need to bring anything like that with you when you move in. You can only rent this kind of accommodation through the International Office.

Medical services

All students must have health insurance coverage in Germany.

  • If you come from an EU country, your home country health insurance coverage may be valid in Germany.
  • If you come from a country outside the EU, you must purchase compulsory medical insurance in Germany to cover the duration of your studies at Fulda.
  • If you are 30 years old or older, you need to take out private health insurance.
